Zoe's Sunday Rain/Snow Obstacle Run

The look: Silly for Rain

Sunday was still warm (40’s or 50’s) and we had rain. It wasn’t pouring or anything so I decided to give it a try. I’ve seen tons of runners in the rain of course each time I thought they were crazy. I’ve run with a bit of snow, in the super cold and the heat, why can’t I run in the rain? I put on my regular clothe and threw on my pink poncho on top. I did look and feel ridiculous but I headed out anyway. My goal was to get to Starbucks and get a nice hot cup of coffee. Not even half a mile in I realized that we still had a lot of snow and tons of puddles, my toes were soaked. I attempted to call my husband for directions because the water and the snow blocked my route. I could barely hear him and was afraid of getting my phone wet so I winged it. Ended up on the correct road, ran through a school parking lot and realized I was getting closer and still hadn’t even finished a mile and a half. I ran around the school parking lot, out to the main street, ran into a few residential parking lots and back out to the main street. I had to jump in and out of the street to avoid puddles that were more like mini lakes and huge piles of snow. I cut through a little path by a lake and ran back and forth until my two miles were done. I met my hubby up at Startbucks and I was soaked. After drying off and grabbing a cup of coffee we then headed to get breakfast at this healthy, natural place. I was happy with my cup of coffee, water and my chicken pesto sandwich. Yummy!!! So, even though I ddn’t run very far and I was more difficult than usual so I do feel like it was a success=)

Happy and Warm=)
2.02 miles
